Description
Sinfeld: Evil Resident is a surreal, narrative-driven horror-comedy experience inspired by the psychological dread of Silent Hill 4, but with the absurdity of a sitcom gone wrong.
Players become Donathan, an orphan comedian trapped in the eerie apartment of his comedic idol, Gary Sinfeld. This once-normal apartment quickly reveals itself as a twisted maze of secret compartments and unsettling relics left by Gary and his friends.
Core Gameplay:
Explore: Roam around Gary's apartment 17 years after his tragic death and squat illegally as you uncover the backstory of what exactly went wrong that fateful Halloween night in 1994.
Solve Strange Puzzles: Decode bizarre cryptic baby level puzzles that an average child could solve, effortlessly with very little brain power required at all to progress the story.
Enter the Death Zone: Crawl through disturbing Asshole Rifts™ into surreal nightmare worlds, confronting manifestations of each character’s personal demons and insecurities.
Harvest Soul Juice: Defeat horrific monsters such as Mouth Breathers™ and other creatures to extract precious Soul Juice needed to bring Gary and friends back from the dead.
Resurrect the Dead: Vomit Soul Juice into the apartment bathtub Hellraiser-style to resurrect the whole cast of characters back from the dead and continue the story.
Advanced Motion Capture Technology: Using roughly the same technology that James Cameron uses, we bring to life the characters in lifelike ways, giving groundbreaking performances that only humans can give by expressing ourselves through the art of acting.
About RareBird Games
RareBird Games is a small, independent collective of artists, designers, and storytellers driven by curiosity and a shared obsession with building unforgettable worlds. We prioritize vision over volume, and every project is crafted with a hands-on, detail-obsessed approach. Our team operates like a creative studio more than a traditional dev house.
Founded by Austin Stock in 2020, RareBird Games blends Austin’s passion for storytelling with his background as a film and animation editor in Los Angeles. Having previously collaborated on creative and quirky projects, including a viral Rick Moranis concept with Adult Swim - Austin now channels his imaginative energy into indie games that defy convention.
Known Limitations: This demo is a work-in-progress preview, so expect a bit of roughness around the edges. Some art assets are placeholder or lower-detail, and performance optimizations are still ongoing (mid-range PCs should run it fine; see Steam page for specifics). There is no save feature in the demo (it’s short enough to complete in one go). Please keep in mind that the final game will be more polished and expanded; the demo’s primary purpose is to gather feedback and build excitement (so let us know what you think!).
Monetization Permission
RareBird Games explicitly allows the gameplay of Sinfeld: Evil Resident Demo to be shared, streamed, or broadcasted for both commercial and non-commercial purposes. Monetization of videos containing assets from Sinfeld: Evil Resident is legally and explicitly permitted by RareBird Games.
